Erika Singler is a founding partner with Halcomb Singler, LLP, in Carmel, Indiana. Ms. Singler practices primarily in the areas of Chapter 7 & Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, Adversary Proceedings in Bankruptcy Cases (Bankruptcy Litigation), Debt Settlement/Negotiation, Divorce/Family Law issues, Civil Litigation, Personal Injury and Small Business matters facing individuals and business located in central Indiana, Indianapolis, Fishers, Noblesville, Zionsville, Carmel, Westfield and the surrounding areas.
Ms. Singler is a member of the Hamilton County Bar Association, Boone County Bar Association, and the Indiana State Bar Association. Ms. Singler has served on the Unauthorized Practice of Law and Law Practice Management committees for the Indiana State Bar. Ms. Singler was elected as Zionsville Town Court Judge in November, 2015, and is currently serving a 4-year term.
Ms. Singler has been selected as a “Rising Star” by Indiana Super Lawyers in the area of consumer bankruptcy for 2014 & 2015. Each year no more than 2.5% of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.After practicing with a law firm in Noblesville, Indiana, for several years, Ms. Singler and her colleague Greg Halcomb founded Halcomb Singler, LLP, in January, 2011. Halcomb Singler was founded on the premise that lawyers should be easily accessible to their clients and that problems should be approached pragmatically with an emphasis on cost-effective solutions.
Ms. Singler has previously volunteered with The Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, serving as their “cookie manager” for several years for the Hamilton Southeastern Service Unit and served on the board of directors for 2nd Chances, Inc., a non-profit focused on assisting homeowners who are unable to pay their mortgage payments in Hamilton County, Indiana. Ms. Singler is currently a member and Treasurer of the Zionsville Village Residents’ Association (ZVRA). Ms. Singler is the current volunteer coordinator for the Zionsville Farmers’ Market. Ms. Singler also currently serves as a volunteer Court Appointed Child Advocate (“CASA”) through Child Advocates in Marion County, Indiana. Through the CASA program Ms. Singler is assigned a child in need of services, meets with the child monthly and serves as a voice for the child in his or her CHINs proceedings.
Ms. Singler is originally from Toledo, Ohio and moved to Indiana to attend Indiana University. Ms. Singler received her undergraduate degree from Indiana University, Bloomington and her law degree from The University of Dayton School of Law. Ms. Singler is admitted to in the Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana. Ms. Singler has been married to Joseph Singler since 2009, and they live Zionsville, Indiana, with their dog, a Papillion named “Buddy”. In her spare time, Erika enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, studying French language, and cheering on Indiana Basketball.
